Nowadays, because the development of the technology, more and more businesses have changed their old ways to promote the or produce the products, instead, they adopt new technology or use new methods to improve the old process.

The big change for traditional supermarket

Recently, a big news that Amazon was acquiring Wholefood and trying to make some changes for traditional supermarket and introduce the new methods for that. Amazon plans to run a new type of supermarket named Amazon Go. For this new type supermarket, Amazone does not need to hire so many people standing beside the cashiers and provide some service to the customers. It may waste some time for the customers. Therefore, Amazon Go replaces the old payment methods with three important improvements: computer vision, deep learning algorithm, and sensor fusion.




With these new technologies, the customers do not need to wait in line which can help them save the time to do other things. This new method also named as "Just Walk Out Technology" that people just take the products then leave without paying by card or cash face to face. It is a big improvement to the business and society.

What does Amazon Go lack of?

However, there may have some problems that Amazone Go has to face. According to the Forbes," What Impact Will Amazon Go Have On Traditional Grocery Stores?" Amazon Go cannot tell the size of the fruits and vegetables that it may be a problem for Amazon Go to determine the price. Another problem is that sensor cannot tell if the object is in the different color or not. It still needs some improvements on it to make it much better.

Will it succeed in the future?

For my own perspective,  I think this new type supermarket will succeed in the future. For businesses, they can reduce the cost on the people and they can rely on the computer to help them do more precise tasks. For the customers, they do not need to stand in line and wait for paying the money. It can help save the customer's time. Life can become much easier. I think if Amazon Go solves the problems, this new type supermarket will become successful.
